There have been two type lids used on the Pentair Whisperflo pumps throughout the years and each use a different gasket. For Whisperflo pumps before November 1998, they used a stainless steel band clamp to secure the pump lid and this style lid uses The Old Whisperflo Lid O-ring. For Whisperflo pumps after November 1998, they used a plastic locking ring to secure the pump lid and this style lid uses the New Whisperflo Lid O-ring.
